We opened the doors to your newest office on June 2. You’ll find your new office conveniently located inside the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Marquette.

Tina Henson is the Manager of your Wal-Mart office. The Assistant Manager is Missy Cevigney. Both Tina and Missy are 10 year employees of our credit union.

Some important reminders about the Wal-Mart office are:

Office hours are very convenient.
Monday – Friday office hours are 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Saturday hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Our Automatic Teller Machine is available 24 hours at this location.

A full range of services are available at this office. See Tina or Missy for all of your loan needs. Please stop in and check out your new facility and watch for details on our grand opening.

Our VISA Instant Cash and Check program has always allowed you access to your funds, with the convenience of a VISA Card. Currently ATMs World Wide bearing a logo from VISA, CIRRUS and/or INSTANT CASH, can be accessed, you now can use ATMs with the STAR Logo.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, many major department and grocery stores will have the STAR LOGO at their cash registers. This means you now will have the option to press DEBIT – enter your PIN – and request cash back, at no extra charge. Wal-Mart locally allows this feature. You may still swipe your card, at check outs, as before, by pressing CREDIT. (your PIN will not be required) This new feature will benefit many locally, as well as traveling, to avoid ATM fees, when wanting cash.

Field of Membership Expansion!

Our field of membership has expanded! We now are able to serve the counties of Alger, Baraga, Dickinson and Iron in addition to Marquette County. This includes those people who live, work, worship or attend school in these areas. Please take the opportunity to contact our office, include your home address and membership eligibility. If you are going on vacation or traveling out of your normal spending areas, please contact Visa Card Services at 800-828-3901 before you leave. They will flag your account to your travel plans so you will have no problems using your credit card.

Get Your Free Credit Report

The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act) signed into law on December 1, 2003 provides all Americans the right to check their credit report once every year . . . for free.

We urge you to order your free annual credit report. Check it for errors and follow the tips listed below to improve your overall credit rating:

• Pay your bills and loans on time.
• Keep your overall debt as low as possible.
• Keep a handle on credit cards. Too many cards or high revolving balances are red flags to lenders and can reduce your overall credit score.

If you would like assistance interpreting your credit report, please order a copy and visit any loan officer at the credit union. We will be happy to review it with you and answer any questions. We will also provide you with your credit score which is not included in your free credit report.
